geowayne wrote: Thu 16 Apr 2026, 3:17 am I wouldn't mind the use of my list in this way if I were properly credited as its original source. They even "borrow" much of my written language. I've now noted this in a comment on the video in YouTube and I submitted a complaint. I also looked into submitting a formal copyright violation claim with YouTube, but it looks like a rather tedious, troublesome process with obvious legal implications. Let's see if anything is done in response to the less formal, less "legal" complaint that I've made. In the meantime, thomashenry's description of it as "Thieving AI slop" is absolutely on-target.

Update - Less than a half-hour after I posted my comment in YouTube about the content stolen from me, that comment now appears to have been deleted. I guess they don't appreciate the criticism. It looks like it's now up to YouTube to respond to my complaint.
If only all users of this site couls also post Theiving AI Slop in the comments

Not sure if this has been posted in the YouTube thread, but this was only uploaded a year ago.
On MTV Club in 1988, about the 11 minute mark, the presenter confirming before they did Always on my Mind that "it's not on the album Actually" before Neil saying their going to put the 12" in with it for only a Dollar more!
You did get a bit of a awkward Chris dance on the closing credit.

I've been trying now for more than a week to get YouTube either to take down this video for copyright violation or at least to force the creator/owner to acknowledge me and/or my website as a source. But YouTube is making me jump through so many hoops to do it that I'm beginning to get frustrated and may just throw up my hands and give up. I've submitted the request four times now, each time following up with additional information they've requested, and yet they've replied again requiring even more information.

I really don't demand the video be taken down; I'd much rather simply receive acknowledgment/credit. Still, it's proving very difficult, and the creator/owner has repeatedly removed my comments about it. They know full well what they've done, but they're simply ignoring me, hoping I'll just go away. And I'm now tempted to do just that.

We're living in a kleptocracy, you know. I'm getting too old for this. ;-)

It is very sad to read this. But what about your editor?
Maybe this story could be a problem also for them, and thay could hire a lawyer to afford it.

This really has nothing to do with my book, so my editor or publisher isn't involved. It's strictly from my website, and I'm the only party involved with that. So unfortunately it's totally on my shoulders.

I'd love it if you were to do that. I don't insist they that take down the video; I just want proper credit, if only in the info posted by the content creator directly below the video. It will be interesting to see whether they delete your comments as they apparently did mine.

Thank you so much for your help and support! I really appreciate it!

I've alway disagreed that PSB were not successful in the America. I believe they have a large and loyal American fanbase.

Not enough bearing in mind their success in Europe at that time.

That's essentially it. They're not nearly *as* successful in the States as in Europe and various other countries, and their big success with singles (at least outside the dance charts) ended after "Domino Dancing." But, yes, they certainly do have a large and loyal American fanbase. It's not just reflected on the mainstream charts anymore or on the radio aside from "oldies."

Electronic music never was as important in U.S. as it was in Europe. In UK, synth pop was amazingly popular in the early and mid 80's but not in America where rock bands were on top, except people like Michael Jackson, Madonna, Janet and a lot of English bands which were on MTV everyday.

But at that time, there was a joyful feeling with a lot of uptempo and catchy tunes with sweet melodies.

Everything changed in US with Nirvana. They changed almost everything and music started to be less creative and sad. Electronic music wasn't cool anymore. Something similar happened in UK with Brit Pop. Even here in Spain but not in the same way.

Apart from that, powerful female voices like Whitney and Mariah used to get the top of the charts before the reign of rap started.

It's fun to see electro-pop is probably the main music style in the world nowadays. Too late for PSB.
