“Obskur Pet Shop Boys” in Berlin

Sod it. After umming and arring this morning, and seeing tickets were still available for the Monday, I just bit the bullet and bought two. Never been to Berlin, let alone Germany before. Even if the gig track list is pretty much the same as the Electric Ballroom, it'll be worth it for the experience..

Same here! ... was hoping it was sold out so the decision would be made for me.

But nope - looked an hour ago and available so I caved in and went for the Sunday night. Managed to convince a good friend to join me and It will be great to see Berlin and will make for a memorable trip.

Glad I'm not the only one .! I was sort of hoping both nights were already sold out, but no...

Ultimately my FOMO got the better of me and yes, it will be nice to explore Berlin. Maybe give the Berghain club a look. If they'll let me in..

Actually the whole process was a lot less stressful than the debacle for the Electric Ballroom gigs. Even though some of it was in German, at least I didn't have to buy a book for "priority" this time...

I am a bit annoyed at myself - I should have bought tickets for Monday instead of Sunday so I have a day to settle in to the city. Not sure there is any chance of a swap but I've tried to contact Eventim.de to see what they say.

It's at times like this where I do get a bit pissed off with Neil and Chris. I adore them and their music has soundtracked my life over the last 40 years, but come on, this whole Obscure thing could have been handled so much better.. OK. I get that the initial run of 5 gigs may well have been testing the water somewhat, but they must surely have planned for more dates beyond Camden.....

I'm delighted that there are more Obscure gigs, especially for those that couldn't get to the initial 5, but why not just state that's what you we're intending longer term..?

I just find it hard to believe that the initial run of 5 dates in Camden was all they had planned to do..

I thought it was a bit of a clue when they headed the Obscure merch section on the OS as Obscure TOUR. Looking at it again, not only that, but "Obscure Tour 2026" - as if it might carry on beyond this year...

If it's being treated as their other tours have been, they may also set up a limited company to handle the accounts for the Obscure shows.

If tickets continue to sell out at the same rate as they are in Berlin, I doubt it will continue. In London, all five nights sold out in seconds, and there are still tickets for these two nights. Strange. Why isn't it sold out already?

Was it announced or advertised in Germany other than PSB's own social media? It was extremely short notice.

I think besides the relatively short announcement and public holidays and the fact that it's not London (!), it's maybe also a "problem" that the venue has no atmosphere, history or let's say "magic" like the Electric Ballroom that's connected to PSB - Camden, Pits and perverts etc. (I've been to Huxley's Neue Welt once, it's not a bad place at all)
And maybe the market for hardcore fans that know all b-sides isn't as large in Germany as I thought.
The fact that the Waldbühne show sold pretty well after already 2 Dreamworld shows in Berlin is quite an achievement I think.

I think this was part of the allure for me to come all the way from Canada for it, but also an excuse to see my dad over Easter!

If it had been in Germany from the start, I'd have been kind of annoyed and might have second guessed whether to go.

Don't get me wrong, Germany was where I spent 3 formative summers on school exchange, so would be happy to go back all these years later.

I think Obscure in other venues around the world is subject to diminishing returns, although I wish others could enjoy it who weren't able to attend.
