It will most likely be released, as this is not simply a new performance, but a new *recording* that is premiered on BBC radio. A physical release before Xmas will definately follow. They have been talking about finishing this for years, well this is it.

But why wasn't the physical release mentioned? It seems strange to me. I know the music industry continues to be in flux. Perhaps it will be announced by N&T during the 2 announced interviews on 4 October on BBC radio. But the fact that the music has been "produced by Pet Shop Boys and Sven Helbig" is exciting in of itself.

And of course Swen co-produced "Battleship Potemkin" (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battleshi ... in_(album)) which is such a masterpiece.

My guess, something to do with whatever deal they have with the BBC. They maybe can't announce a release until the broadcast so that BBC get more people to tune into the shows first - then maybe announce the physical release in quick succession?

I wonder whether the revised version will syill have the voice of Gordon Brown.
I hope so, his gruff serious considered voice works well at the end there.

Sorry...

This. Marketing.

Would you listen to this broadcast if you knew the CD and Spotify album was coming out a week later? Probably not. Now they have everyone's attention.

Is it just me or do I remember watching this Proms 2014 as a live stream video? Maybe I screen recorded it or am I having a near-senior monent? I'll have to look on my various drives.

I thought it was video recorded too. I distinctly recall video of Chrissy Hynde and Neil.

To the best of my recollection it was not one of the Proms that was televised, fan footage showed up quite quickly.
