I gave up just over a year ago.
Patches helped with the cravings.
I still feel like smoking once in a while but think to myself that it's not worth it, as one would probably lead to more.
I gave up alcohol three weeks ago, as it was getting a bit regular. But I don't think I'll not ever drink. I just wanted to see if I can go without or if I was an alcoholic.
No Coke for me lately. Bad for the teeth.

As far as I can see, smokers do not post. Strange
No smoking. Hazardous to my health and to my wallet
But a full-time alcoholic during weekends

The CELL by Stephen King instantly hit number 1 in New York Times Bookseller Lists selling well over 200 thousand copies in three weeks. This affirms my opinion: People really need an occassional good horror read...

Yup, I smoke. Funny thing is I took up smoking when I was past all the little things that attract people to it. I only started smoking 7 years ago. I blame some of it on the internet, even though it is my fault of course. When I first got internet in 95, I had no reason to smoke so I didn't. Then when my bro started using it in 96, he would smoke and leave his cigarettes next to the comp on occasion, so in 97, I found myself wanting to smoke one while on line, and it was a menthol and I liked those. There is a story behind it, but I won't go into it. Anyway, I then found myself over the course of a few weeks, just having one on line here and there. (This was when the internet was still fun) Had fun with the whole head rush thing, and before ya knew it, it began its little game. Out at a bar, suddenly one night, I just asked for one, and enjoyed the mix between the alcohol and head rush, and on with the show is how it goes. I didn't buy my first pack until 98, and that was when I knew I had been defeated. As bad as it is for ya, I enjoy them when having conversation, and since I talk a lot, I am screwed. =) No excuses though, I am hooked. I have tried to stop, but as all smokers know, nothing can possibly be accomplished unless you smoke that first cigarette in the morning. It is evil, and costly, and so instead of sulking, I enjoy the fact that death will be 10-15 years sooner. =) I would have wound up living to 95 anyway due to genetics, so 80 sounds like a good number. So I am keeping myself away from old age where I am all alone, can't see or hear, and all women are too young for me. That is no fun, so I consider it a way of controlling my destiny! =)
Oh and speaking of cig's... very cool image in your sig Glenny!
