Re: Artists in Residence
The Bilingual Remix CD is one I missed out on at the time. Regretting not buying it when I had the chance

Re: Artists in Residence
I know lots of PSB fans bailed around the time of Bilingual. I could certainly have gone that way too. Remember this is pre-internet, so you're effectively influenced by what you're doing in your life and the traditional media. PSB barely promoted the album, they were releasing self-indulgent singles (I never thought Single was a single, though I'm more appreciative of it now) and they then repackaged the album for the fanbase when it didn't sell. So I didn't buy this either.
I must be a loyal person though because I stuck with them even though worse was to come...

I mean...it was Right There....leesmapman wrote: Thu 14 Nov 2024, 11:42 pm No Neil, the first time you sung on a remix was Bowie's Hallo Spaceboy, althoug I always thought the "ah-ah-ah"s from Blur's Boys & Girls was a Neil sample, but it's not.

I would venture further and say that for me, the version of Flamboyant on PopArt (a slightly different mix to the 7") is in my Top 5 PSB songs. I love it !Drico One wrote: Thu 14 Nov 2024, 11:17 pm Flamboyant - the very definition of an underrated, semi-forgotten minor classic.

maybe they see it as a "duet" rather than a remix.Vintage Youth wrote: Fri 15 Nov 2024, 11:09 amI mean...it was Right There....leesmapman wrote: Thu 14 Nov 2024, 11:42 pm No Neil, the first time you sung on a remix was Bowie's Hallo Spaceboy, althoug I always thought the "ah-ah-ah"s from Blur's Boys & Girls was a Neil sample, but it's not.

Just a couple of random funny comments from the last episode
Neil "Well, we've all worn Venetian death masks!"
Chris "If you get a remix from us, you also get Neil thrown in, whether you want it or not!"

Re: Artists in Residence
Gary Davies played "I'm So Hot For You' on Sounds of the 80s tonight with appropriate PSB references. Wasn't expecting to hear it twice on the Beeb within a week!
