Artists in Residence

#1 Post by Suburban_Boy »

Pet Shop Boys will be presenting five hour-long shows on @BBC6Music as part of their Artist in Residence series. The shows will be broadcast from November 11–14.

6 Music's Artist In Residence will be a journey into the musical soul of an artist, based around a theme or mood. Each episode finds the host playing records that have informed specific periods of their life.

Sounds like 5 x episodes of Back to Mine with I an assortment of insightful nuggets, funny anecdotes and the odd biscuit

Roll on November!
you could say conventional ... and I could claim intentional

11 - 14 November is only 4 nights so will one night be a two hour show I wonder? Maybe one hour for Neil and one hour for Chris exclusively?

There's a good name for some kind of limited release, Pet Shop Boys Exclusive

This is exciting. I wonder if the timing of the November residency will be to coincide with some new release (e.g, Nonetheless Deluxe, Disco 5, Dreamworld DVD etc etc).

Dreamworld bluray will be next year, so that won't be it.

A little early or the perfect time to drop that Christmas release?

So I was right (https://www.petshopboys.co.uk/news/2024 ... ed-edition). CD Disc #2 (or LP #2 and LP #3) will be:

All the young dudes
Adrenaline
The dark end of the street
Miserere

Loneliness (Demo version)
Feel (Demo version)
Why am I dancing? (Demo version)
New London boy (Demo version)
Dancing star (Demo version)
A new bohemia (Demo version)
The schlager hit parade (Demo version)
The secret of happiness (Demo version)
Bullet for Narcissus (Demo version)
Love is the law (Demo version)

So I can imagine there being another single and in terms of the "residency", Neil and Chris tying in themes to the expanded edition to promote it.
