Because they use the most obvious, cliched and dated trance sounds on the song. It's clear that they have done it very quickly and cheaply.

Yes, it really stands out from the remixes that are really really good this time (except for the Dettinger's rather boring take on Gomorrah).

Fugitive sounds like a proper "original" song but In Private still sounds like a remix to me

If they are original versions then I wish they would've just called them Fugitive and In Private instead of adding Richard X extended mix and Stuart Crichton club mix on the end!
If they wanted to show who worked on the track they should've just put produced by Richard X and produced by Stuart Crichton.

God, and In Prvate is such a fine song. Just to have it ruined by that other twerp. They should have left this one well alone. Nuff said.

I kind of like it, in the same way as I kind of liked Steps cover of Tragedy, utterly poppy and trashy but still enjoyable to listen to.
Btw, it's guaranteed to be a huge comic relief type hit with Neil and Elton in drag.

what I hate about IP is that Elton's voice completely takes over and I can't hear Neil's at all. and Elton sounds awful in this song.

No, I meant they should've just called it Fugitive and not Fugitive: Richard X extended mix if the version on Fundamentalism is the only (aside from the demo) version
