It will be interesting to see what happens during this 3rd week. So far, the worst performance of a PSB single in its third week was I Get Along: 74 (45, 18 ). A Red Letter Day was at #62... - I wonder if Minimal will stay in the Top 75 for another week.

Does anyone know if Minimal managed to stay inside the UK Top 75?

It's not really a detailed and proper conclusion for someone who claims to be into Statistics. Drico might also come to the conclusion that Stat's freak has been 3.5 times eager and very, very sad. Compare your posts and replies to Nickname's. I'm sure this'll be different. Also what percentage of PSB members posts have dubious content? Niche topics and threads are often more interesting. Popular, in my book, is usually equated with boring and mediorce. At least it seems to be nowadays.The evidence is of course in the public domain.

I'd rather have quality over quantity.

*LOL* Thanks for your very serious reply to a very tongue in cheek comparison Of course I would never have spent 10 minutes of my time if I hadn't known for sure that I would be the clear 'winner' of this comparison, thanks to 1-2 topics with many views and replies. I also prefer quality of quantity, which is why I opened just a handful of topics, and not dozens.

Drico is of course a top quality poster, and I'm not even kidding. It's just funny to see how easily irritated people can get over a simple tongue in cheek remark.

Surely A Red Letter Day has the worst 2nd week position after falling out of the top 10 to out of the top 40.

Just looked at yesterday's single sales - had Minimal been released last Monday it would have made the top 10.

Not necessarily Kris. It's all relative. Minimal would probably have sold less copies had it been released in what was possibly the slowest sales week all year, save for first week of Jan.
However, because PSB are very much a fanbase sales act, we'd probably all have still made the effort and Minimal probably would have been a bit higher than #19.

I don't think the 'relative sales' issue applies to PSB in this case. As you pointed out, PSB are very much a fanbase act in terms of sales patterns and I find it difficult to believe that the same people who bought Minimal two weeks ago in its opening week wouldn't have bought it last week had it been released then.

You only have to look at Miracles and Flamboyant as a comparison - both sold uncannily similar amounts in their respective first weeks despite being released four months apart. But Flamboyant's week of release was marginally more competitive, hence the slightly lower chart position.

So I'm of the opinion that PSB got unlucky with the week they released Minimal in - that week the top 17 all sold over 10k, which was unusually high. Though to be honest, at least it still made the top 20, as top 15 was the best I thought it would do.
