It ended up at #41.

I really dont understand where it all went horribly wrong?
Is it purely down to EMI distribution?
The song isn't THAT bad!

Any news about the album charts? Is Fundamental still in the top 200?

The #41 result for Minimal in its second week is the 3rd worst 2nd week result of a PSB single. That's if you don't count West End Girls (#59), which climbed to #1 slowly. Same goes for Love Comes Quickly (#31), which slowly climbed to #19.

Top 10 of PSB's worst 2nd week results (after reaching peak in week 1)
01: I Get Along 45 (18 )
02: A Red Letter Day 42 (9)
03: Minimal 41 (19)
04: I Don't Know What You Want But I Can't Give It Any More 38 (15)
05: New York City Boy 34 (14)
06: Flamboyant 34 (12)
07: Single-Blingual 33 (14)
08: Home And Dry 31 (14)
09: Miracles 28 (10)
10: Was It Worth It? 27 (24)

It will be interesting to see what happens during this 3rd week. So far, the worst performance of a PSB single in its third week was I Get Along: 74 (45, 18 ). A Red Letter Day was at #62... - I wonder if Minimal will stay in the Top 75 for another week.

Remember that Minimal was #36 after Monday's midweeks and #41 after Tuesday's (or was it Wednesday's?) midweeks. This means that the single actually didn't drop during the second part of the week. Whether it's down to more stock being delivered to shops or the song having some appeal after all, it definitely means that Minimal will stick around in the top 75 for at least one more week.

Unfortunately, I'm not too sure about that :( I'm afraid it will become the first PSB single ever to spend only 2 weeks in the Top 75. I just HOPE not, since Minimal is simply way too good to deserve that fate.

Minimal would be the 2nd worst second week placing were it not for the recently instated chart rule that disqualifies singles whose physical formats have been deleted. Recently deleted singles "Crazy" by Gnarls Barkley and "Maneater" by Nelly Furtado sold enough to place at #25 and #12 according to Music Week. So if that rule were not in place Minimal would be #43!
