Yes, as much as I'd love to see Henry at Liverpool , its a pipe dream and has zero chance of coming true. £30 million is too much for a player approaching the latter stages of his career and as has been mentioned, Benitez has never really signed those kind of superstar type players.
The next few weeks should hopefully see us making a few good signings but I think the reality is that our new owners were never going to bankroll us in the same manner as Abramovich's Chelsea and to a lesser extent, Man Utd.

He's an idiot. A bit like Neil Warnock. They are more interested in mouthing off in front of the camera's. Martin Allen hasn't achieved anything in management yet. How the hell he got that job is mind boggling. Leicester should have tried to tempt someone like Glenn Hoddle. I cannot see Leicester doing a thing, no matter how much money they throw at the problem.

Very strong rumours on Merseyside today that Liverpool have agreed a deal to sign an as-yet-unnamed player for £11m. No idea who but at that price my guess is it would be a wide midfielder (Simao? Mancini? David Silva?) or a striker (Forlan? Bent? Milito?)
God I hate the close season...

I'll be 100 million per cent honest with you, i wasn't sure about Martin, especially after he critisized the St George flag a few years ago, but listen to this interview, monday 6pm.

So whats that matter? He's still a top coach. The football england played under him was the best i've seen over the past 10 years. He also took the unknown Swindon to the Prem. Let himself down at Spurs though but every manager wil lhave one poor performance.

So am i. doesn't mean i'm qualified for any football job though. Allen is a lower league manager and always will be IMO.

I wouldn't be surprised if that was an agrred fee written into his contract last season. It looked like he was about to leave but was persuaded to stay.
Same with Michael Owen. 9 million pound release fee. Unbelievable really.

Top coach? What constitutes top? How many are better, if he's 100 down the list, is that top?
Well, Martin will prove himself one way or the other this season, as he's been given a great opportunity, with possibly the best owner of a football club that ive witnessed.
Danny, how old is Henry compared to Bent, that might explain the price tag.

Henry is 29. I'm not surprised he's left - he seems to have a homosexual relationship with David Dein from what I can gather.
I don't really rate Darren Bent - he's ok in the Premiership but, like Fat Frank, looks exposed at a higher level. But then Carrick went for a similar amount I suppose.
I hate the Premiership anyway - what with Man. City selling out to a human rights abuser, I reckon Hitler would have been a fantastic Premiership chairman with all that Nazi gold.

It seems Arsenals legacy is falling apart at the seams. Still, I'm sure there's a billionaire out there somewhere willing to give them a helping hand. After all football clubs do have to eat and spend exuberant amounts of cash on under-performing players.

Thats what happens when you think you are Man utd and move to a stadium of a size that wasn't really needed. Millions of pounds worth of debt when Arsenal were at a stage where they were ready to be kings of Europe. Money would have been better spent on a few more world class players. Not that i'm bothered of course, i find it all rather amusing.
As for the situation at Man City, they, like Newcastle, are a complete shambles.

I think it was needed, look at the facts after just one season...
Capacity: 60,432
Av Attendance : 60,140
It was nearly 100% full last season.
Compare this to Sunderland, who despite averaging 31,887 in The Championship last season [The highest BTW], the ground was only 66% full.
That said, I have been to the ground when empty and have also been behind the scenes. There is too much concrete on show for my likings!!
There does seem to be a lot going off away from the pitch that seems to be affecting morale.
Arsene Finger doesnt know if he's coming or going. I havent a clue who any of their players - I couldnt name their first 11, whereas I can for Man Utd and Chelsea.
Anyway, I couldnt give a toss really!
And yes, Newcastle are a shambles!!

It was yeah but
1) I'm sure they could have carried on with attendances of 40,000 but added a few top drawer players, so they could win the champs league.
2) I don't think they will continue to get that support anyway. New stadium + Henry stopping last term, would have boosted gates. The novelty will waer off IMO.
3) They certainly missed Highbury. It was a fortress.
