What is Being There about?

I just saw one of the best movies I have seen in a long time recently! It's called "Black Dynamite". The only problem is that it might not translate very well to UK audiences (again, making the perhaps very wrong assumption that the site is filled with mostly people from the UK and elsewhere in Europe). While I loved the movie, it will mostly only relate to people that are fans of the Blaxploitation genre. Movies like "Foxy Brown", "Shaft" (and the sequels), "Cleopatra Jones" (which I saw recently...my favorite of the genre, etc.). It's almost an homage. It even really looks like it was from the 70s! It spoofs these movies, but it is not deliberate by going after certain scenes, characters, etc. It just gets the vibe done but makes it hilarious. It's the very subtle...the opposite of this movie I can't believe I sat thorugh, "Meet The Spartans". Awful! That being said, like modern spoofs, it does have one gross out element, but it's a funny joke. It's a "hard" R-rating in the US, so viewer discretion advised.

What is Being There about?

I would have forwarded you the Wikipedia link, but they tell you the entire plot! Very basically, a man that has done nothing but watch TV his entire life (had interaction with nobody but TV) is forced to live in the real world and manages to convince people he is a genius by only using this TV info. He's not a con-artist. He is very naive and believes that TV is the real world and everyone gets fooled...I'm probably not explaining it well because I didn't like it. I understand the message, just didn't like the movie.
