Mindhunters is a great film. Not sure if it was released in the U.K though. Eden Lake is another top recent film.
Re: Movie recommendations
Ummm... Can't think of anything at the moment to recommend - not really bought anything 'new' for a while, although I did buy the BluRay of 'Terminator 2' the other day and can recommend that - great transfer to digital and plenty of extras.
Nearly bought 2012 on BluRaY today, but decided against at the last second. Can anyone tell me I should definitely go for it?

if you've not seen it, your next blu ray purchase should be the new star trek. the blind side is superb. would recommend crazy heart too.

It Couldn't Happen Here j/k
Can't go wrong with the Big Lebowski 1998. If you haven't seen Borat or the invention of Lying, those are worth a throw. If you want real sex in a mainstream picture try Shortbus, 9 Songs, Intimacy, Ken Park or All About Anna

And tryin' to figure out what happened to 'Germaine Propaine'
"He couldn't have fell off that hard" Ain't no way
"What happened to the way you was rappin' when you was scandalous
That Canibus turned into a television evangelist"
Plus he raps with his regular voice [BOOSH! BOOSH!]
[BOOSH! BOOSH!] (What was that?) Pet Shop Boys

i cannae stick Star Trek, the new one is magic though.

Re: Movie recommendations
Just came back from seeing Kick-Ass at the cinema and can heartily recommend it.
Very funny, very violent and in the same style as the Watchmen in the same sense that it gives a knowing wink to the whole comic book world.

Re: Movie recommendations
Saw a video preview thing online and also saw some reviews that echoed your sentiments - ie: no deep story, 'switch brain off and enjoy' kind of comments. I might pick it up still - I am sure it will look the part on Blu Ray and it is only a shade over £15 in ASDA.skyhigh wrote:ps. 2012 looks great and all but it lacks any great depth.

Re: Movie recommendations
I saw a horror movie late last night that rocked. it was called the descent about a group of friends who go hiking in caves and get lost inside the caverns and run into these freaky bloodthirsty creatures.
OR if you want to see one of the most awesome movies of all time you can watch robocop 2.

Re: Movie recommendations
Not seen anything recently to recommend. A few of my favourites...
Oldboy - Korean film (subtitles). Very interesting storyline about a guy who (for reasons unknown) is kidnapped and held prisoner then released after 15 years. An amazing ending.
This Is Spinal Tap - Surely everyone knows about this film
The Usual Suspects - My favourite all time film ending
The Big Blue - a visual and audible masterpiece
Angel Heart
Field Of Dreams

the Descent 2 is almost as good as the original.glennjridge wrote:I saw a horror movie late last night that rocked. it was called the descent about a group of friends who go hiking in caves and get lost inside the caverns and run into these freaky bloodthirsty creatures.
