That's a shame, he was always an hero of mine. He does love himself a bit though.

I used to live in the same house as a certain famous Slovak actress and met her quite often, but she always carried herself as if she was a queen, behaved loftily towards the neighbours and dressed herself so eccentric so that anyone could overlook her in the street. The best thing was that she got almost all her film roles only thanks to her husband who is a film director. And althoug all the journalists have written only good things about her, I know how she is as a person from my own experience and when I read such an article about her I just smile and am just happy that I don´t have to meet her anymore. I just can´t stand people who think they are something special and even if they are famous, there is no reason to believe that they are above others.

So it could have been Undertaker's Halcyon River Diaries then.

No chance. I hate wasps and stuff like that. Couldn't sit around in fields.

Never thought a lot of him after that of course.
I've heard Bobby Robson could be like that as well. Knew a guy who met him a few times and he said he was an arsehole.

Except from the Pet Shop Boys I can think of Michael 'Bully' Herbig
(German commedian and movie director) and Torsten Frings (Ger-
man football player) ... Torsten Frings is usually grumpy and Bully
was nice and funny.
Wigald Boning springs to mind. Another commedian and TV enter -
tainer. I brought his book and he signed it, he was friendly.
I met Frings 2 times, once in a book shop signing a book and the
other time it was a fan party of the Werder team.
Speaking of Frings, footy starts in a few minutes ...

I've been very lucky actually with the people I've met. Billy idol was an amazing guy and I've met the guys from Duran Duran several times- they are always very friendly and nice. Simon le Bon can be a nob to some people tho- in other stories I've heard he has refused to talk to fans and refused pics etc. He also told one girl he was sick of seeing fat fans and was hideously rude to her as she was a little on the large side... oh dear! He's always been perfectly nice to me though, so I won't complain!

We're not allowed to have a negative experience with the Boys? The first time I met them (at a signing) I handed Neil a gift and he tossed it, unopened, over his shoulder onto the floor like it was rancid meat. I was devestated.
In fairness, the other times I've met them they've been absolutely charming; everyone has a bad day now and then.
