I just arrived home when the Top 5 were being shown so I don't know if they said that in the beginning but as far as I know it's THE system of the "show".

Oh, I see, thanx for the explanation.
Whenever during the show it's been
explained.
Pity, they have not mentioned any-
ting proper about their singles and
their rankings when it came to the
PSB (or any other acts)!

I still don't get the voting thingy ...
Anyway, never mind, I still don't un-
derstand that DM thingy as well.

Well you can simply look at the single charts from the 80s. The Pets had 10 Top 10 Singles in Germany and although DM even had one more top ten hit it seems clear that the PSB Singles simply stayed longer in the Top Ten than the DM singles and so got more points in this ranking...

Shouldn't you all be busy electing a Government or something?

Have a look at your watch and be
sure that the votings have already
been cast.
How long do you think does it take
to make a 'cross' on a sheet of pa-
per?
Haven't you watched TV today? Image

Better than being insolent enough
to remind us of what we have got
to do instead of talking about 80s
music and PSB ...

The German elections are offtopic.

I don't know how Sandra's come to be
on rank 15.

Hehe, Kim Wilde's written a book called
'Gardening with children' ... interesting!
As fas as I know, Sandra was very successful in 80´s with songs like "Maria Magdalena", "Everlasting Love", "Hi, Hi, Hi", "In The Heat of the Night", "Midnight Man", "Little Girl", "Stop for a Minute", "Innocent Love", "Secret Land", "We´ll be Together", "Around my Heart" , "Heaven can Wait"and a few more. Maybe it has something to do with being very popular at the time with the amount of hits, dunno.
What I know is that I love her music and I was very very happy to see her again. :D

It is not MY job having a look at it, it's up to the
ones who make these shows to explain why ...
What I have meant with the 'DM thingy' was not
about their ranking, I wanted to underline that I
doubt the 'reliability' of these kind of shows as it
was wrong about DM and no proper explanation
as well ...

@shamelessbehave: I liked Sandra as well ...

Btw there was a proper explanation at the beginning of the show. Also on the RTL web site there can be found a short text saying: Die ultimative Hitparade wurde aus den offiziellen deutschen Single-Charts ermittelt: Für eine Woche auf Platz 1 gab es 10 Punkte, für den 2. Platz 9 und so weiter...

Kim Wilde presents a gardening program over here. I assume she knows whats shes doing. A somewhat different occupation to what she once was.
So that will explain the book. You might have already known this, of course. If you did, you now know twice ;)

Yes, and you could 'influence the charts' by
voting some hits ...
Normally you should explain the chart ran-
kings to each act and not saying anything
shortly in the beginning and nothing about
the acts when it comes to them.
I don't want to repeat but it was only sho-
wing some snippets of videos for about 1
minute or so and that they've had 10 hits
(which ones exactly, which rankings?). Or
something. That was just poor really ...

@Dave: I didn't know about her book (erm,
why should I have already known this, 'of
course'?) so it was interesting as I've said.
I only find it a bit strange mentioning this
while not even explaining or describing the
chart success of the acts properly.

Being a Manics fan I already did that very early in the morning. ;)
