Greetings,
"Why Am I Dancing?" is my favourite song from the album, but I do feel that releasing it would be about as pointless as releasing Feel, which was a bit of a "nothing single" in my mind. It's also the "nothing in my letterbox" single at the moment too.

I'm surprised they didn't stop after "A New Bohemia" to be honest, but as always, I'll take any bonus tracks they're putting on offer!
I drew a parallel between the Nonetheless Explanded Edition and the Bilingual Special Edition in a previous topic, so in a similar vein I'm going to assume that the 5th/1st single (depending on how you frame it) is going to be one of the new ones. Getting there by a process of elimination, Miserere wouldn't be commercial enough, All The Young Dudes has already been played live and wasn't particularly amazing, what I can find out about Adrenaline from Geowayne's site doesn't sound promising... so I'm going to hope their cover of “The dark end of the street” will be great, and that it will be that one. A re-tooled Christmas banger of Always On My Mind style proportions for 2024!
Retro.

I'm agree WIAD? is not as good as their anthemic tracks of the old days but the rest of the songs from the album are clear album fillers. Neither for Radio 2, nor for Christmas time either.
But "Schlanger" and "WIAD?" work fine for the typical songs you can listen those days on the radio but a good reworked and improved version is needed.
Personally, Nonetheless is my second favorite PSB album, so
to me, everything on it is far superior to the ‘anthemic tracks of the old days.’ But more on topic, I’m not sure if mainstream radio play is the objective for this single. Given that Artists in Residence is scheduled on Radio 6, the chances of The Dark End of the Street being a single are just as high as Adrenaline’s.

I don't think most of fans of PSB or listeners of Radio 2 think like you. That's why I think they'll choose a quite anthemic song.

Pet Shop Boys announce their new double A-side single, “New London boy / All the young dudes”, and an accompanying remixes single, both of which are now available to pre-order on CD at the link in bio.
The first single includes a new radio edit of “New London boy” and a cover version of David Bowie’s “All the young dudes” produced by @james_ellis_ford with orchestra arranged by @anne.j_dudley, along with a “Delinquent” version produced by PSB and an extended remix by Richard X, plus a previously-unreleased song, “Beauty has laid siege to the city”, also produced by PSB.
The remix single starts with the Richard X radio edit of “All the young dudes” and includes further remixes by @boyharsher of “New London boy”, @i.jordan of “All the young dudes” plus “Clean Air Hybrid Electric Bus”, a PSB track which was previously only available on the Japanese Deluxe CD of “Nonetheless”.
The cover of CD1 features a photo of Neil taken in 1972 when he first moved to London and CD2 has a photo of Chris taken circa 1981.
The digital single bundles will be released on Thursday, 7th November, with the CD singles to follow on Friday, 15th November.

Once again, I guessed right.
Because the 3 best and most beautiful songs on the album are Feel, New London Boy and Bohemia.

Fabulous! How lucky we are - five singles in a year, all with new tracks, and then more new tracks on the special edition too. Have we ever had an album campaign with so many bonus tracks? Bilingual, maybe?
I wasn't a massive fan of Dudes live, but am very interested to hear the studio version, along with the remixes. Intrigued by the "epic" "Beauty has laid siege to the city" - was that mentioned in Annually? Don't remember it.
And fab single covers too. This is the first time we've seen the younger them on a cover, isn't it? (excluding a slightly younger Neil on the Monkey Business cover)

It’s fascinating to see a photo of Chris as he looked when they met in 1981.

Wonder if we will get a video for either (or) BOTH songs?
