Russia deserved their win. No arguments here. Certainly wont be resorting to racist remarks.

Another big game and England bottle it again. Nothing new really. Can't take penalties and can't finish from 5 yards out.

Taxi for McClaren and the crook.

This is why I am not so sad about defeat. We were never going to win Euro 2008 with McClaren in charge, even if we got there. By failing to qualify, we get the chance to dump the worst manager in English football history even sooner. So it's really not such a bad thing.

Of course this depends on the FA doing the right thing and sacking the t***.

Russia deserved to win this one, I thought for an hour England played well and should have been 2 up but Russia kept to their task and never gave up and you have to give them credit for that. England's defense had a lot to do all night and they did very well, I thought the England midfield let them down by letting the Russian midfield get past them far too easily. What was Rooney doing marking the guy for the penalty? He should never be in that position.

It's going to be tight but England's draw in Israel looks like it could come back to haunt them like I thought at the time.

Well played Russia but it will be a tough game in Israel I am sure!

For our next game v's Croatia, i'd remove the seats in the dugout, so McClaren and Venables don't just sit their like a couple of turds with irritating smirks on their faces all the time.

It's not looking very good for any of our home nations for Euro 2008. I don't know what the scruffy people are going to do. The only time they take their curtains down to be cleaned is when they replace them with flags.

At least we wont have to put up with Ian Wright all summer.

We had few moments but... I think we would win 3-1 if some guys move their legs more on that field.
Pavluchenko had to play in England instead Kerjakov nad we have few power forwards like Adamov who play very good.
Russian problem is we invite players who play in foreign clubs, it's a mistake.
We have our good players and don't need legioners.

That's why we loose ice hockey sometimes...
It's much more better to play with players who know each others than players who
see other for the first time.
Kerjakov played awefull and I don't mind if he will be playing in Sivilia nad never
come to Russian footbal team.
I was anger at some of our players who played so lazy...
There are so many emotions... So many...
Yes Runy is a good player, when he get pass he hit.
When we get the pass we- THINK!!!
As in chess, we used to think about next combinations, but there is no time...
And we begin to play, EVEN if we are loosing...

I have to say we have many talanted players but you couldn't see them on that field tonight.
I hope we learned some lessons and stop walk on the field and think where to pass.

Oughh...
I was screamed and nebourghs hit the floor :D
I have thought they call the police...

But in spite of all I love ICE HOCKEY more!!! :P

Parkol you are a complete idiot with absolutely no common sense at all!
How old are you?
Is it a joke or are you serious?
If it is true and you believe some of the pathetic things you say you have many problems.
You must absolutely hate the Russian team manager.
Please tell me it is a wind up.

I agree but I don't think we have the players capable of winning a tournament either. Our goalkeeper isn't good enough and we don't have the composure to keep possession and take the sting out of the game when our backs are against the wall. It was the same story in Euro 2004 and Germany 2006 - you can defend as doggedly as you like but sooner or later if you can't keep the ball, simply lump it forward and keep inviting pressure it will tell in the end.

McClaren obviously deserves a lot of the blame. Ditching Beckham was a foolish decision and deprived us of our main source of creativity, not to mention the best footballing brain and range of passing in the squad. That's not to say Becks deserved a guaranteed starting role but to not even have him in the squad and pick the likes of Phil Neville instead was just ludicrous.

I still hope we qualify - apart from anything else we tend to perform better in tournaments when we are written off - but we definitely need a change of leadership. I wish we had gone all out to get Guus Hiddink in the first place. Now it looks like he's going to drive the nail in our qualification chances.
Passion, love, sex, money, violence, religion, injustice and death. More on that story later.

Oh well, the disaster had to happen at some point. :(

I know this is an England thread, but I couldn't be arsed starting a new one to make one point.

Bad luck, by the way. I thought England were going to do it. :(

When did they change the rules to, "Any foul commited in the vicinity of, but not in, the penalty area will result in a penalty kick"? :?

Some of the points Parkol made are true though because Russia were garbage, as were England. Russia played for 10 minutes and scored twice. England dominated the game but had no cutting edge. Like Danny said, keep the ball and you win. I forgot Wright Phillips was playing. Joe Cole was shite. Rooney scored a great goal and then gave the ball away all the time. He also tried to do everyones job and ended up giving a pen away. Richards spent half the game as a winger. Gerrard bottled it in front of goal. The keeper again failed to push a shot wide of the post.

We was missing our regular left back. There were 3 to choose from to replace him. Franken Neville, who plays centre mid. Lescott who plays centre defence. Nicky Shorey who plays LEFT BACK. Who does McClown pick? Then to top it off, he puts Downing left back in the 2nd half
