Agreed. I dread to think what 80s/90s/00s classic tracks will get turned into god awful acoustic/string arrangements for the upcoming festive period. Such a cliche.Vintage Youth wrote: Tue 29 Oct 2024, 7:42 pmGreat point. The breathy cover versions drive me nuts.Kompakt&Bijou wrote: Tue 29 Oct 2024, 6:04 pm And perhaps we should be grateful it's the original version, not some twee acoustic concontion. It breaks my heart that Electric Dreams (in a cider ad) and Frankie's Power of Love (in a crisp ad) have been denigrated in that way.

Using a cover of The Proclaimers on a Viagra ad is the one that takes me to the fair.TwizzleUK wrote: Tue 29 Oct 2024, 11:16 pmAgreed. Re: EE Advert
Is this the most under rated, but commercially successful PSB song? It chartered higher than Domino Dancing but kinda gets forgotten about?
Just listening to it again and it's what I'd class as a perfect PSB song.

It came on in the cinema earlier. Made a tit of myself, naturally, while the bestie pretended not to know me.

Anything which brings this epic song to a new audience can only be good.
A whole lot of overthinking on this message board. As per usual. Just try to enjoy the fact they stay relevant in their own way, and continue to surprise us with stuff like this.
It’s called being a fan
