The presenter at the BBC Concert 2002 said before the show 'album sales well in excess of 30 million'... so I guess about 35 million should be relatively accurate up to now (though of course I don't have an exact proof...)

Chrispsb wrote:I bet the number of 40 million albums is clearly exaggerated. Every magazine writes a different number from time to time. All we know is that they sold between 30 and 40 million albums. No one can say the exact number of copies.
30-40 million is still a fantastic effort and they have never had a proper album flop. Morrissey has had quite a few poor efforts.
Read Alig and Drico's posts. They put a pretty good claim forward that it's only in the past year or so that Morrissey is more popular than PSB. Lets not forget the previous 17 odd years. Morrissey released too many flops. Popular music didn't start 2 years ago.
Oh, i watched a Morrisey concert last week. Live in Manchester. Only thing was, he was miming.

I tried listening to Morrisey and I found his stuff far too annoyingly depressing, and yet people here claim that James Blunt is depressing?

But Mozzer is *funny*. Blunt is just chick fodder, the male Dido.

But Dido's voice is more disturbing, isn't it? As much as I try agreeing to you statement I have to admit that his song wisemeni s quite a killer.

I'd say Blunty's songs are much more sad than depressing but Wisemen is the song that really made me go out and purchase the album, on promo of course
