Some guy phoned up after Spurs outplayed Man City but lost 1-0. He said Tottenham played crap etc, he was asked if he watched the match and said ''no''

So yeah, it's a phone-in for retards.

I can normally take about five minutes at most but hearing all the Cockney Reds calling up distraught is rather hilarious.

I'm English actually, not that you don't know that! Of course there are no other teams that have fans all over the country I suppose? And I love Undertaker's one about how Spurs "outplayed" City, of course they did, they always do! Another classic was the one about them leaving their best player out, erm, Berbatov! Oh he played for Spurs, it was obvious!

Anyway just got back from England and Barca certainly gave United a lesson, Xavi, Inesta and Messi are impossible to play against when they are as good as that although United's midfielders didn't do that well to be fair. Actually met Fletcher (cue onslaught from Patrick) in the Trafford centre at JJB sports on Monday after they had done the parade of the premiership trophy around the city and although I didn't speak much to him I did tell him I'd have preferred him to Carrick in there, not that it would have made much difference but at least he wouldn't have given the ball away as much. Nice bloke actually (sorry Patrick).
I thought we gave them far too much space saturday but it's true that it is very difficult to get the ball off of them at times. Far too many United players had average games and against Barca they all needed to be at their best. No disgrace losing to them and it's still been a pretty good season. Not too many teams win the league and get to the Champions league final and Ive found it funny to hear so many people having a go at them, what more can they do? Oh win the treble, easy.

Now all we need is to get Modric and we'll be world beaters, can't wait for us to sign him. One I really want is Ashley Young although that is an outside bet I'm told. We certainly need a couple of top players in there.

Played my game at Old Trafford tuesday morning and had Clayton Blackmore on my side the second half, still remember him scoring at Wembley in the charity shield match I was at in 1990 and also for his goal against Pécsi Mecsek in the cup winners cup game that year. Anyway, got a couple of goals at the Stretford end including a direct free kick that I bent round the wall, quite enjoyed that one! We lost though, had an absolute shite team and didn't have a chance. Still great playing there and the pitch was a carpet, Better than last year. Well looked after because of the recent play off games I imagine.

Anyway, could be an interesting summer for transfers, Quite a few sides will be looking for players for sure.

I think if any team is to compete with Barca, Barca's team would need to get broken up. Can't see that happening with many of them being content. Trick will be for Utd, Chelski, Man City etc to unearth the next Messi, Iniesta or Xavi's.

Neymar will be key to this I think and whoever gets him will have the next Messi. Put him in a team with the likes of a Fabregas, a Modric, even a Fletcher or a Wilshere and you're on the right track.

The thing about Barça is they're head and shoulders above ANYONE but Real Madrid who have spent the most ridiculous amounts of money and still failed to catch them. The Spanish league table looks like the Scottish one at the moment. It's not La Liga that is strong it's those two and specifically Barça.

Exactly. I'm fed up with people harping on about how good La Liga supposedly is. A comparison with the SPL is spot-on, it's just the top two running away each year. At least the Premiership had three teams in with a shout until the very last stages, with not much of a gap to the teams battling for Europe, plus a classic ding-dong at the bottom, with most of the bottom half peering over their shoulders until near the end.

That said, though, as Skyhigh said, the top English teams have a lot to do to compete with Barcelona. It's been fantastic to see so much English involvement at the business-end of the CL and UEFA/EL over the past few years. It would be a shame if standards were to slip and we were back to all being neutrals by Christmas.

Fletcher wouldn't have made a difference at all. He's not even fully fit. Carrick keeps the ball better than Fletcher anyway. He just happened to play crap. United will sign Modric in the summer and he would have made a difference. Different class to anything United have in there. Then again, he's average according to Zico Dourvres

Can they stay there for a few seasons, Steffen, and then push for promotion to the 1. Bundesliga? East Germany badly needs it with no representation in the top flight. I remember the days of Magdeburg, Carl-Zeiss Jena, and Lokomotiv Leipzig in European finals. Hansa Rostock seem to be in real decline, which is a pity, and Energie Cottbus couldn't quite bounce back last season. Still, at least Union Berlin had a decent season in the 2. Liga.

Strange that he didn't make much of a difference for Spurs this season? Don't really get that? Shocking for such a superstar! Strange too that Barcelona don't want to sign him too. Surely they want all the world's best? Anyway, let's see, perhaps United will sign him and he'll do well, if they do sign him I do hope so of course, but that doesn't mean I have to talk shite about how great he is, would obviously help him playing in a stronger team too. Anyway, I know you love him and only time will tell.

And as for the football aid game,well, we didn't have Modric either for that so were bound to lose. But seriously, I had a team of old players and 3 blokes that haven't played the game since school. We lost 6-3 but I was happy to get a couple of goals and played OK. Couldn't believe it when I saw who was on our side but that's just the way football aid works of course. Totally random. Fair enough though, we all have the right to play. Great experience though and if anybody has the chance to do it at their favourite club I'd recommend it. Fantastic.

Oh and I did watch the Spurs v Man City game and I remember Spurs having a lot of the ball but not being able to break City down enough. City had a great defence that day and got a goal on the break. I agree that Spurs didn't deserve to lose and had the better of the game but that's modern football as far as I'm concerned, soaking up the pressure and getting a goal on the break. I know you'll disagree but I don't really care. It's all about opinion and you are a Spurs fan so show bias towards them of course.
