Chris: "I don't really like MP3's. It's like having a 1 megapixel digital camera."

It was a nice surprise to hear Numb on BBC but thats all it was, a nice surprise. You are looking at at least 4 months until a 3rd single wil lbe released, so any comparison to England would have long been forgotton. The only way this montage could be used is a t.v advertising campaign with Minimal and Stupid. Even then, the montage is owned by the BBC and they don't show advertisements.

If they really want to use "Numb" to their advantage, then they should start advertising the album using it. It doesn't need to be on the BBC, it could just be played during the advert as one of the songs on the album.

Fundamental has gone back up to number 71 on iTunes as well.
Any danger Fundamental might move back in to Top 100 sales chart next Sunday?

Somebody said on the PJ forums said they'll be buying Fundamental after hearing Numb.

Am I the only person who thinks Numb can be a massive hit?.
If it was being released in three weeks time instead of Minimal it would have been.

Another question about the music. It might get played again on Points Of View, if it is still on during the World Cup?

Numb is no. 96 in the list of "Today's Top Songs" on the UK iTunes Music Store!
Love comes quickly, but is a catastrophe and a bourgeois construct etc.

Is this a radio edit version (since it's about 3-something minutes)? I remember Numb was supposed to be part of a double-A first single.

Anyway, I like this version better than the album version since it's shorter (less of the boring repetitive "I wanna be numb" chorus) and it uses the "Taken away from all madness" part twice, which I thought it's the best bit in the song.

There's quite obviously been a lot of interest in the song. Countless forums have been asking what it is. And from the BBC's World Cup blog:
PS. For all those who emailed or posted here asking for details of the song used at the end of the England Portugal game on Match of The Day... It was Numb from the Pet Shop Boys' album Fundamental.
Nice link they used. :D
