Fundemental release date - 13 February '06
It's a little frustrating to have to report this but EMI have decided to delay the release of Pet Shop Boys' new album, Fundemental, until May 22. The reason is nothing to do with music, artwork or videos, just that they want more "set-up time".

Neil and Chris are in the studio this week completing two tracks to be released as bonus tracks on future singles: "The Resurrectionist" and "Girls don't cry".

Hey, maybe that means even EMI are paying attention for a change and heard something they like so much, they decided the old queens could do with some good old-fashioned "come-back" promotion.
Well, surely (and hopefully!) the boys won't get exposure à la Duran a year and a half back, but some exposure would be welcome to make others out there aware that 'no, the Pet Shop Boys didn't split up after the 80s'

If Neil thought that, he wouldn't call it frustrating. But you never know if he knows anything about the EMI intentions.

It's delayed because Gay Mafia protocol means they must attend Elton's Oscars party. It must be obvious.

And also we don't know the name of the first single (supposing they have changed their plans about Minimal).

One can always hope that "more set-up time" involves two singles pre album, though it's never done these days.

Very sad news indeed.

They shouldn't have given out any promos yet, now the wait is getting longer because all of the reviews coming out.

I hope that at least EMI wants more "set-up time" in order to make a good promotion.
