Dutch Magazine Oor has a positive review on Fundamental

#1 Post by leesmapman »

Summary:
- I'm with stupid is as catchy as West End Girls was
- Pet Shop Boys are back in the ranks of the quality Euro-pop
- Quality and correct production
- they thought their previous album, Release, had a few great tracks, but wasn't that great
- the quality of the album never goes down (that was the problem with the previous two albums, in their eyes)

Note from me: I don't like Oor magazine. I didn't expect them to be positive on this album, but they are.

Why is everyone always so down on Release? :( I think it has so many wonderful melodies on it.

At least I'm with stupid is available in Dutch shops. Even the Free Record Shop has it. Miracles & Flamboyant weren't to be found.

I bought Miracles at the Fascist Record Shop.

Plato The Hague has plenty I'm with stupid in stock, since there's a big PSB fan there, the guy behind the counter told me.

The latter is correct. Plato The Hague is the perfect place to order your PSB releases in advance.

I'm surprised about the positive OOR review. Personally I started to boycot OOR after they slagged off Nightlife with weak arguments in 1999. I'm also very surprised to hear that Free Record Shop has I'm with stupid in stock. I even travelled to Germany to buy my cd-singles...

Good melodies, crap production.

Incredible that you have it in your countrie´s FRS. We don´t have it our ones. So we have to blame EMI Finland

-I´ve got a 12-inch plonker.

Well personally I find melody much more important than production. Plus I also have little problem with the production on release anyway. It perfectly complements the melodies.
