Is anyone as disappointed with Fundamentalism as I am?

I mean, apart from Fugitive with its obvious strengths, it's just all undanceable bleeps and b-side fodder that do absolutely no justice to the original versions whatsoever. Is it that they've gone too avant garde with the choices of remixer, or low budget, or both?

I reckon the whole idea was hatched when it was decided Fugitive was too provocative for the album (esp in light of their push to get signed up for US distribution).

Hopefully the future singles get some decent talent on the case so that we dont have to keep playing the PSB Maxi Mixes.

I quite like it although it could have been much better. I really like the Psychological mix and think the Flamboyant mix shows the song in a different light. The Minimal mix is very good too and Fugitive is bloody amazing. The 2 Sodom mixes aren't great, I'm With Stupid doesn't really go anywhere and In Private is just lazy and an insult to the original version. Where was the quality control this time?

Overall 7/10.

I like Fundamentalism a lot! Fugitive is an instant PSB-classic and the best-produced PSB-track ever. The Psychological and Sodom remix are fantastic, and the Minimal remix is good too. The Flamboyant remix is pretty nice and when you're in the right mood, In Private is listenable too. Gomorrah sounds very experimental, but it's certainly not bad. I only don't like the Melnyk remix of I'm with stupid very much. The Max Tundra or PSB Maxi-mix would have been better choices.

Overal: 80/100.

I think it needs to be remembered how limited PSB are when it comes to limited edition bonus CDs accompanying their albums. Unless they want the limited edtion to be ineligible for the UK album charts, then the bonus CD needs to have a certain percentage of tracks that are also on the regular edition.

Let's face it, we are unlikely to ever have something as exciting as a "Relentless Part 2"...

i really like fundametalism however i do feel that they could have put some more tunes on as 8 isn't really that many i even like flamboyant mix on it!

I'd almost rather that they waited till after they released a couple more singles THEN think about a remix album (like they did after Bilingual). But I guess it barely makes a dent sales wise to put the decision off another 6 months.

Nah! I completely disagree. I think the remixers the guys have used this time around are (in the majority so far) very good. I'd sooner have vocal remixes than plinkety plink instrumentals and dub beats. I loved the Danny Tenaglia stuff but could never understand the idea behind the beat remixes with hardly any relation to vocals etc.

Whilst its true I would much have preferred new tracks in the vein as Fugitive, I think the extra disc is worth while.

Given the fact that I didn't expect PSB - or anyone else for that matter - to ever deliver a track as sublime as Fugitive again - I can't say that I'm disappointed. I'd readily pay £1000 for that track alone.

To me it's their best collection of remixes, probably.

The only collection that comes close to matching it is the Mix cd with Pop Art.
