That's interesting, because when I looked at this chart yesterday they had it as a new entry at #26, which I found rather astonishing after seeing it in the city HMV store at #5. Anyway #5 is fantastic, and I really hope this translates to a top10 national placing. All will be revealed come Sunday! Fingers crossed!

To be honest I have no idea, but I'm guessing that since Australia has roughly 1/3 the population of the UK, and Fundamental sold 26,000 units to get #5, then the equivalent sales here would be about 8,000 - 10,000? So top10 could be anything over about 4,000 - 5,000 I guess. A gold album is 35,000 units and plantinum is 70,000.Kris wrote:Just out of interest, what are album sales like in Autsralia? How many copies would an album have to sell to go top 10?

Yeah, I tend to agree with you, top 10 is probably a bit optimistic, but I think we can safely say that top 20 is on the cards. And that in itself is pretty bloody good considering the dismal performance of both Release and PopArt.flankerboy wrote:I'm with stupid was No 12 in the HMV Singles charts and it came in at 23 in the official charts.
Based on that I would say that it may be lucky to crack the official Top 10.
I'm also yet to read a review of Fundamental here anywhere. I thought it might be reviewed in today's Herald, but nothing. I haven't checked the Australian yet. Has anyone else found any reviews? I read a terrible review of I'm with stupid in one of those music street mags (can't remember the name), the ones that are all rock oriented. Why on earth they actually review something like PSB in the first place is beyond me.
