Fugitive - How many versions!!!

#1 Post by One of the crowd »

I sent an e-mail to Richard X yesterday asking him to confirm how many versions of Fugitive he did.

Today, I very kindly received a reply...

hello alan

i did the 12" version of Fugitive on the album and also a 12" instrumental
and a 7" edit. You always do the alternate version regardless of whether
it will be a future single or not. i presume that is what you're after
regards
rx

So there you have it, there are the following versions:

Richard X Extended Mix (as on Fundamentalism)
12" Instrumental (Unreleased)
7" Edit (Unreleased)

Good on ya!

And just as I expected really. I wouldn't mind getting my hands on that instrumental.

Good thing you emailed him. This completely contradicts what Chris said last month:

viewtopic.php?t=13443&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=30

But then when did we ever expect PSB to know about what mixes there are of their own work? The PSB must be the band I waited years to hear them deny about 9-minute mixes etc...

This suggests the edit may well be the b-side to the next single together with Bright Young Things (as In Private was with Minimal)

wonder if he (or every other remixer) always burn some CD-Rs for friends, so there would exist a 'real' record (studio acetate) with these mixes...

Why don't you ask him for the remixes?
