No CD for new tracks?

Are the DVD tracks for Minimal (excluding the mixes) available on CD in any market? Or do we have to transfer them from DVD ourselves?

The PSB have lost their minds with the Fundamental singles. Not a good sign when their release strategy is overtly hostile to the fanbase (most mixes only available on promo CDs and audio tracks limited to DVD). If it was any other band at all pulling this crap I'd stop collecting immediately. Absolutely unacceptable.

Well, it's not hard to rip the audio off a DVD. Failing that, you could just download them.

I'd rather have new songs on a DVD rather than a making of... video as somebody has already suggested.

I'm glad to see this little bandwagon is picking up some steam. Patrick is, of course, entirely correct. Whether it is easy or not to rip audio from a DVD, why should anybody have to bother? Why put obstacles - however small - in front of the fanbase?

I've got the DVDs but flummoxed on how to exact audio from a PAL DVD using my MAC... any suggestions would be most appreciated.

Here in Germany we only got CD2 and if I remember correctly it's the first PSB single release (in Germany) that doesn't include at least one b-side.

Why release DVDs at all? I don't need the video and I can also do without a U-Myx software that doesn't work properly. I want to listen to the music on my CD-player and I surely prefer new songs to some boring remixes. But now the best track off the Minimal release (=Blue on blue) is wasted on a DVD which is unavailable in most parts of the world.

The point is that I shouldn't have to. They shouldn't be surprised by plummeting sales and rising piracy when they can't even give the fanbase what it wants. It's really very simple: make everything available on CD somewhere. With multiple international markets this isn't difficult and it would actually boost sales anyway.

Downloading isn't an answer - if they can't be arsed to give me a physical format then I can't be arsed to pay them.

Is ok if is an extra, not though if replaces a cd version IMHO.

Very easy to rip dvd - I purchased - DVD Audio Extractor 4.0.2 last single...

Be that as it may, the point surely is that the fanbase is expected to purchase all manner of software and rip tracks from DVD when it would be so much easier and less perverse to simply give us the bloody music in CD form.

Why are people surprised when the single plops in at the nether regions of the top 20 when this kind of record company apologia is promulgated by us fans?

Of course it's their fault. They can put the other tracks on singles in other markets. They can release a continental or Japanese CD with every trac. They can choose not to follow the rules and give up trying to get a chart placement. They can issue a disc the following week that's not chart eligable. They can release every available mix on a special CD through the fan club.

They pursue none of these strategies and instead issue a series of hostile formats (vinyl/DVD) and hold back mixes for exorbitantly priced promo CDs (there is no valid reason whatsoever they can't simply press more of the mix promo CDs and sell them direct through the fanclub).

They are fomenting piracy and aggravating long-time fans - moronically at a time when they can afford to do neither. Personally I hope every single fan who meets them on the upcoming world tour asks them why they support piracy by not releasing everything on CD.

I would just like to add my ten yen's worth. I am also fed up of bonus tracks being available exclusively on the DVD release. Are fans seriously expected to buy the tracks again from iTunes so they can listen to them on their computer or iPod?
