Obviously the current security crack down in London is a massive threat to civil liberties.

Neil and Chris should be there now performing an inpromptu concert to the waiting travellers

Well...

Passengers should be profiled. Granny and Joe Business traveler (me) shouldn't be singled out.

If the terrorists were caught why are we under high alert?

Making me take off my flip-flops is f'ing pointless and power-trippy

Podunk airports -- like the one I'm sitting in right this moment -- need to relax and lose the inferiority complex

Lucas, very frequent flyer.
I sincerely *love* Disco 2 and listen to it straight through regularly.

Terrorists aren't just scruffs with beards and no jobs. Whats stopping some executive walking on a plane with a bomb in his briefcase?

How may is there, though? The main players have been caught but how many wannabe hero's are in hiding?

Maybe but there was an incident a few years ago where some lunatic boarded a plane and tried to ignite a bomb that was hidden in the heel of his shoe.

By profiling I take it you mean Asian men with big beards and skull caps. Don't you know that Al Qaida are now actively seeking to recruit white eastern european muslims for suicide bombing missions, i.e men that don't fit the profile.

As far as the application of profiling goes I remember being stopped quite a few times in the early 90s by the police at the height of an IRA bombing campaign, i wonder what made them stop me after walking past a hundred other men?

I said before that I don't agree with the main message of the song Integral. The events in London this week clearly show that terrorism is a treat to Western societies. The ID-card thing in the UK may be ridiculous, but Pet Shop Boys went on to promote their album in interviews, saying the world is governed by fear, etc...

Much as I love Integral (and wish it had been released as the first single), I simply can't agree with people moaning about the current situation in london being a threat to civil liberties.

So what if people have to put their belongings in a plastic bag. PEOPLE ARE TRYING TO KILL CITIZENS - so some security measures have to be taken.

Get real everyone

Totally agree West Mids Boy.

Can't see that id cards will make any difference at all, but resticting hand luggage seems a step in the right direction to me.

Much better than getting blown up.

Yeh they should release Fugitive as more related n some way,

Integral isnt really related at all i would say that Integral will come around when they are stopping all asians/indians on the street and asking for proof there not terrorists!

I wish people would get over Fugitive. It's alright but there are better singles on Fundamental and there isn't a chance in hell that you can release a song about someone flying a plane into a building. Why not go the whole hog and have PSB release 'If i had a hammer' and have Peter Sutcliffe guest appearing in the video.
