Favorite PSB Remixes (by other mixers...)

#1 Post by EricMontreal22 »

I have to admit, while for most of my fave artists I know all of their major remixes, etc, but not for the PSB--partly because by the time I really became a hard core addict I already was buiying all the Further Listening editions which largely just have thier own (wonderful) mixes, etc.

I have a handful of singles (the US Maxi for New York City Boy, most of the ones from Miracles on) and the Disco discs, 2 disc Release and Fundamental, etc but never managed to get the three disc PopArt and am interested in finding out about the best remixes of their stuff by other people (and maybe ones to avoid).

I'm sure there was a thread at one time on this but I wasn't here ;) Anyone wanna start me off?

thanks
E

We had a dozen of such topics before, actually...

My favourite one is still the Jam & Spoon Tripomatic Fairytale remix of Young Offender, probably followed by the Voxigen remix of I Wouldn't Normally Do This Kind Of Thing. By far the best recent remix is Trentemöller's take on The Sodom And Gomorrah Show.

Well, what a difficult topic this is :D

Anyway, my personal list is:

- Before (Joey Negro's Extended Mix)

- Before (D.T.'s After Mix)

- Love Comes Quickly (Shep Pettibone Mastermix)

- Miserabilism (Moby's electro Mix)

- Can You Forgive Her? (MK Dub)

- Sodom (Trentemoller Mix)

- To Step Aside (Heisbrought Heights Mix)

- Young Offender (Jam & Spoon Trip-o-matic fairy tale Mix)

- (...) Drunk (Attaboy still love you when we're sober Mix)

- West end Girls (Sahsa Remix)

No one has mentioned Can You Forgive Her? MK Remix, truly excellent in it's simplicity.

this is so subjetive that is almost pointless...I consider some of the mixes mentioned here as some of the worst..so I think the only way is trying to hear the most you can and choose yourself... ;)

No other remix is better than Young Offender (Jam & Spoon Trip-o-matic fairytale mix). It´s been my favourite since I heard it for the first time years ago.

Aww I just wanted to hear some faves for me to track down and form my own opinion--of course it's not definitive and is subjective--like anything
