I found the Pink Floyd part in Concrete's Luna Park

#1 Post by diana »

The solo singing part has a strong resemblance with the solo singing part in:
Great Gig In The Sky from Pink Floyd.
The song is at Dark Side of The Moon.

Dreaming of the Queen

You and her and I

I think it was actually ILTR the closest composition to Pink Floyd..It sounds almost like an outtake from "The Wall", with the horns at the beginning...

I hate that awful song, "The great gig in the sky". I'm not a big fan of the album itself, but that song is what really ruins it. I can stand the piano introduction but as soon as the vocalist starts to scream I most often than not skip to the next track.
And how that cut could make it onto the "Best of Pink Floyd" compilation is way beyond me...

Really? I like it. Do you hear the resemblance?

The same thing you have with GGITS I have with Time. That songs starts incredible good, untill the bloke starts to sing, terrible.
On The Run is also worth listening.

I haven't listened to the Concrete version of "Luna Park" I must add.
Yes, "On the run" is actually interesting to listen to, although it's very experimental without a tune. I like "Time" but prefer "Breathe", "Money" and "Brain damage". The rest is boring.

I like to quote the b-side of So Hard: "It must be obvious".
