Predictions for Chart Positions for Integral?

#1 Post by Blogo »

Lots of news about integral and speculation about if its going to be released..
If it was released where would you predict it would chart?

For me (seeing that i love integral) I think it would come in at No.6 and hopefully stay in the chart for a few weeks.

What about you?

Let's see if it's released yet...

But unlucky no. 13 seems to be the typical chart placing of late... :|

No 15.

There is no TOTP anymore, PSB get little radio airplay though R2 would definitely support it. My guess is though any R2 listener who likes PSB will have already bought Fundamental and wont see the need to buy it again.

Which leaves.......die hard fans.

You had to sell 5000 singles last week to get into the Top 20, 10000 to get into top ten and 20000 to get into the top 3.

So, on last weeks figures, Id guess is 15.

:?

It might not even make the Top 20, the buzz for Fundemantal is completely dead. Labeling it a promo for Disco 4 doesn't really change that.

I hope I'm wrong though.

I'd say it'll be number 1, but I think it will actually go into minus figures, such will be its success. Future governments will mandate that every household must own a copy of Integral, the future British national anthem.

Rumour is he will be hired by Bush to sort out the mid East.
Apparently Bush couldn't find Palestine on the map so gave up.

It'll depends on how many mistakes in promotion and impediments to the shelves EMI/Parlophone will bring down on new single this time, I'm afraid. May even strike top ten if they'll bring out "immaculate" single mix, "perfect" video based on it and "rational" promotion policy of downloads (between no.7 and no.15, I guess). Otherwise, it will have a "sterile" success, charting between no. 19 and no. 35, in my opinion...
"I think it’s an amazingly good album, I’ve got to be honest with you. It’s one of the albums I feel most proud of. But for people who don’t really know us, and have a sort of an idea about us, ‘Electric’ is more what the Pet Shop Boys are meant to be."
(Neil Tennant, speaking about "Elysium" on the eve of "Electric" release.)

Given that downloads represent an ever higher proportion of total singles sales, PSB will find it increasingly harder to obtain decent chart positions. I predict a #21 entry.

Some FREE marketing and promotion advice to Neil, Chris and the children at Parlophoney

Integral is all about DATA. Data keys are made by a company called INTEGRAL. Talk to INTEGRAL and do a deal about releasing the single on 5000 INTEGRAL data keys.

Ta dah! You're in the top 20 before you even start selling CD's and downloads.

Issue press releases to the media on the INTEGRAL data key and so on. The possibilities (and just think what you COULD have done if you had released this FIRST from the album, are endless).

Boys, if you'd like to hire me to do it all for you, just email me here!
