I ran across this rather odd reference to Chris @ Scotsman.com. This was in a Dress to Impress column that began by criticizing the new PM's wife's outfit. Then it wandered a bit afield & eventually said:
Other clichés include wearing nautical styles on a boat and dressing like a person you fancy (apparently Chris Lowe from the Pet Shop Boys used to dress like who he was trying to date - Kate Moss and Pete Doherty are other examples).
So ... Chris fancied The Michelin Man, did he?

When they appeared on Live From Her Majesty's possibly. I remember Jimmy Tarbuck, the compare, making some 'witty' comment on his outfit.Young Offender wrote:LMAONaughty Zoot wrote:So ... Chris fancied The Michelin Man, did he?

Hm..I'd forgotten about that shot & it does fit. However, I was thinking more along the lines of the black Puffa Issey Miyake suit - but I can't locate a pic to match it to a pic of the Michelin Man.Young Offender wrote:LMAONaughty Zoot wrote:So ... Chris fancied The Michelin Man, did he?
