Small mention along the lines of.....Neil Tennant and Chris said to be furious as 'I'm With Stupid' was played over that violent gay scene with the line "I hate the Pet Shop Boys" in that programme that was on a week or two back (I didn't see it and can't remember what it was called!).

Funnily enough have just noticed that the kid who took the Great White Shark photo on the front of the paper is called Chris Lowe - how bizarre (to coin a phrase!)

NEIL TENNANT and CHRIS LOWE were horrified their track I’m With Stupid was playing on C4’s Clapham Junction during a violent scene. The track could be heard as an assailant shouted “I hate the PET SHOP BOYS” and attacked a gay man.

I'm also horrified by that. Pet Shop Boys just can't be associated with anything negative!

But isn't it a legal right? Every artist has the right to decide in which context their music will be presented. PSB must have given their approval for I'm with stupid to be used in the program, but when they saw the context, they withdrew their approval, therefore forcing the makers to remove the song. The same happened with Huey Lewis & The News's Hip To Be Square, who withdrew their song from the American Psycho soundtrack, when they realized how it was used in the film...
