James Whale

#1 Post by mole973102 »

Controversial presenter James Whale was fired from TalkSport today for breaking OFCOM rules. So kind of his own fault. I am a bit pissed really, I liked James Whale's show occasionally and sometimes he's had some interesting discussions, especially in areas of World Governments etc. So that's another person willing to have views silenced. At least Richard Bacon's still going (<-sarcasm)... :(

To all you Integral fans...complain...but it won't make any difference.
You gotta have fun!

I'm not really a fan of his but it does seem ridiculous that you have to be politically neutral if you're on the radio. It's very patronising to listeners. As for Bacon, how the hell did he get in Konnie Huq's knickers? There is no God.

I used to listen to his show sometimes, and actually quite enjoyed it.Not surprised he got the boot as he really didn't give a damn about who he offended!I'm surprised he lasted so long.

Apparently there were a mere 3 complaints to OFCOM that got him fired!! How ridiculous!
I listened to him all the time and didn't even know he was suspended the last few months.
A shame as he was a guy with the balls to speak up about any and everything. A rarity these days. I'm sure he'll be back in some shape or form and Ive seen on his website that he has done some podcasts to download.
Talksports loss as far as I am concerned and I certainly will not be listening to any of the other presenters who are piss poor in compairison.

A great guy who has the balls to say it how it is.

I remember listening to him on Red Rose Radio, broadcast from Preston in 1987. He had a phone in show then too, and would give all the listeners that called up, the full force of his opinions.

Don't be surprised if you see him make an appearance on his own TV show again soon ...

I think he started believing his own hype. He was bit right wing for me but was sometimes entertaining. I think he's joined Bid TV, oh dear....

He didn't get fired because of the complaints, he got fired for breaking broadcasting rules during an election.
On another forum, I wrote:I've never been a fan of Whale's show. The rotation of a few dull hobby horses (religion, the BBC, the Royal Family), the honking on the horn and the "Ahhhhhhhhhhm" signposting of when he thought he'd said something ever so clever and funny irritated me in the early days; that he was still doing it, years later, whenever I heard him more recently, didn't persuade me to tune in regularly.

They're bound to re-employ him eventually anyway. Hasn't Alan Brazil been fired loads of times for being too drunk to broadcast?

I can't say I'm a fan of Whale or talk radio per se but he's a paradigm of virtue compared with the c*nt's c*nt, Jon Gaunt.

Alan Brazil is quite entertaning. What happened to the guy from merseyside that used to present with him. As for Jon Gaunt what an arsehole, i would like to punch him squarely in the face.

Graham Beecroft got the bullet, possibly for not being a big enough "name", although I believe he still does the odd match report.

Nice to see that Gaunty's unpopular.

Graham Beecroft. Yeah that's him. I liked the way him and Brazil used to play off of each other. Andy Townsend on the weekend is quite good as well.
