I'm in love with a German film star - October release!!

#1 Post by wieske »

From te official site:

"I'm in love with a German film star" sung by Sam Taylor-Wood and produced by Pet Shop Boys will be released on CD and MP3 on the Kompakt label in October to coincide with Sam Taylor's Wood's new exhibition at the White Cube gallery in London which opens on October 22nd.
The track is a cover version of a 1981 release by The Passions. There will be also be an extended "symphonic" mix by Pet Shop Boys and other dance mixes. A video shot by director Baillie Walsh will be released at the same time.
Sam Taylor-Wood has previously recorded and released two other tracks, produced by Pet Shop Boys, under the name Kiki Kokova: "Je t'aime moi non plus" (1999) and "Love to love you, baby" (2003).
Don't give me all your northern pain
Don't sell me New York in the rain
Let's leave our promises behind
Rewind and try again

The symphonic version sounds interesting.

Great news, although I wonder why it's via (hip label) Kompakt. I hope they distribute it via the PSB website as Kompakt is based in Germany which means that in the USA we end up spending an extra $10 on shipping for a CD.
I'll still get it, but German postage is the most expensive in the world...

Wondering if it´ll be only available from the fan club.

What, some glib and unfocused act of pretension by the pedestrian Taylor-Wood? One would hope not surely.

His remix of the Blank and Jones/Bernard Sumner track wasn't bad. It sounded a bit like New Order's 'Perfect kiss'.

that track Thrill Her on his my space page sounds good. If you read his profile seems like he had quite a bit to do with JD and NO in their early days

Not as long as it's released on Kompakt. A "PSB release" must be released through EMI.
