And now it doesn't work!
All that happens is that the led light flashes for a second and then a sound like a scratched cd trying to play for 10-15 seconds before it just stops all together and is not recognised by any pc.
Its got over 350 GB of stuff on it and some cannot be replaced.
Any pc experts that can give me any hope of ever recovering this or is it f****d!!!!!
Cheers!

Sounds knacked to me. If you're really desperate, there are companies that can restore data from broken drives, but I am sure it will cost you.

Yep, your probably correct there. Seems something is jammed inside but I'm afraid to open it up myself in case I make it worse. I'm going to take it to a pc shop tomorrow to see what they say but in France it is so bloddy expensive to do anything that I dread to know how much they will want even to look at it!

Depends how valuable the data is. If you REALLY need it, DO NOT plug it in and let the arm damage it even more.
But, I'm afraid to say it's as good as dead, sorry matey.
Oh, and don't open it yourself, it will kill it instantly.
