Email correspondence proves that leading Global Warming activists tampered with data to "prove" Global Warming:

Absolute lies and distortions. And you are still an idiot.

Nothing was "proved". This was private correspondence between SCIENTISTS, not activists. They were specifically speaking of the problems with medieval tree-rings. This is what scientists do- they ask questions, and the bad data they were discussing was later proved to be- surprise!- bad data.

Anyone reading this, the right-wing climate change deniers are on an idiotic tear saying hacked and stolen emails (not "leaked", they were hacked and stolen) proves definitively that global warming is a fraud!!!! Except the emails portray nothing of the sort.

Deschanel,

nice try. These people were not just discussing tree-ring data. They WERE tampering with data, they were omitting data, changing data and trying to stifle any opposing views by not allowing skeptics to be writing in peer-reviewed magazines. They tried to deleted emails so that their lies wouldn't get published as part of the "freedom of information act" in the UK. Fact is that these leading propagandists were caught red-handed and now all you can do is obfuscate the truth. What else could you do? In other news, Australia has voted against Crap N Trade.
There never was manmade GW nor will there ever be any. And calling me an idiot won't help with that either.

Phew, thank goodness. Now that a couple scientists have been caught pissing about with data, I can safely conclude that those melting glaciers were just optical illusions.

I went outside today guys and it was FREEZING COLD.

Yet as recently as August I was able to go outside in shorts and t-shirt.

Obviously this is proof that global warming is a myth!!!11

I've been wearing a t-shirt and a light jacket until last Friday. That is not normal...

We always had warm and cold winters the past century. It doesn't change the fact that the climate has been cooling the past ten years. This is one reason why those scientists tried to cheat.

The climate has not been cooling for the past ten years. That is horseshit.

those scientists just set the credibility of science back a loooooong ways.

think of all the debates online....or on TV and people quoting scientific data to prove their points one way or the other...and now, this shows that even proffesional scientists and their data can be corrupted by personal politics.

congradulations liberals. you just became everything you complain about FOX news

Who didn't know that already? The great thing about science is its wonderful ability to separate the wheat from the chaff. Now obviously this thing is going to be blown all out of proportion (and anyone who knows anything about climate research can easily recognize how minor this hullabaloo actually is in purely scientific terms), but pretending this sort of thing actually undermines the independent efforts of literally thousands of researchers is a bit like pretending Jimmy Swaggart is proof there's no God.
