The pre-nup protects Robbie far more than it protects his new wife. Without a pre-nup she might be entitled to half his money if they divorced. With it she would get much, much less. Rich wives have to pay their poorer husbands too, of course - Britney Spears and Madonna both had to pay after they divorced.

I just don't understand why you get married if you're going to have a pre-nup. Surely the lack of confidence in your future suggests that you shouldn't get married? An insurance policy, how romantic.

you're right,but when your in love that state of mind glosses over red flags an anotherwise sane person would have noticed early on, in your mind you tend to process only the good things about the other person and then once your married and they got you and it starts to wear off you start seeing with a clearer eye, then as if by magic the "what the f*** have I done" moment sets in.

so I think people who have money on some level know this going in. I imagine thats why.
