What is the world coming to? Giving a world cup to a homophobic and racist country. They even have anti Jewish laws there. How in a million years can such a disgraceful county be given a world cup. Iran next?

This guy should be sacked immediately and FIFA should be reformed. To have such a corrupt and useless bunch of wankers in charge of world football is unbelievable. And don't get me started on Platini.

I thought his comments were disgracefull and a showcase of how serious
the problems are in soccer officialdom.

The awarding of the world cup recently to two corrupt countries showed
us all that it is pointless even trying to win hosting the world cup honestly.

I think there are problems in all aspects of the game, even the game itself.
No one talks of improving the games rules to fix this. There is an arrogance
that soccer is perfect.

There is corruption in player payments and transfers.
No clubs seem to be training their young players in life skills.

And now these outrageous comments from someone who sounds like a boxing
official from the 1950s.

the guy was being glib no doubt about it, but I dont know if there is any hope for gay people when they are this confused and do such handwringing over these comments. seems to me to be some pratical advice delievered in a un politically correct way seeing as homosexuality apparently is outlawed there.

For once I kind of agree with Captain America on this. Sepp Blatter is a first class wanker but I think he was being glib as well. In certain states you can be penalised for gay acts, which although it stinks, is how the laws work in Arab states. I'm sure homosexual groups themselves will warn each other to be careful as well. No point getting defensive about it. It's how it is in Qatar. It ain't right. I think Blatter was giving a word of caution, although he could have been a bit more sensitive.
