I discovered this show over the summer and love it. Season 4 finally became available on Netflix streaming recently. Anyone else like it?

I love it. Father Ted is different, and both are hilarious. Graham Linehan is a comedy genius.

My favourite episode is when Moss becomes the Countdown Champion of Champions. Brilliant, just brilliant.

I worked in IT for more years then I care to mention.
And the books and old computers at the back of the office
are full of industry wit and history. It's as if they have one
clever person just getting that right.

I had forgotten the PSB connection here: Frances Barber plays Moss' shrink in some chapters. And that hilarious chapter about a disco musical called "Gay". I'm sure it was C2H influenced.

And Neil Hannon did the series theme. Everything in this show is brilliant!

It's ok, but it's not a patch on Father Ted.
I'm surprised they made a series 4 as Graham Linehan often says comedies tend to go downhill after 3 series...
he also wrote some of Black Books which is a good comedy, better than IT Crowd imo.

Yeah, Father Ted has far stronger characters and has always struck me as rather Beckettian. Who else is Father Jack but Lucky?



The IT Crowd is rather one-dimensional by comparison, and certainly not as funny.

A US pilot was made the Richard Ayoade playing Moss and Joel Mchale playing the "Roy" role but it never got picked up. You can find it on youtube. I did hear though that a US remake was back in the works thought. As far as if they'll do it with a live studio audience this time around is unclear since hardly any sitcoms are produced that way anymore.
