iTunes 11
Well now I've wasted most of an evening scrolling through albums to see which ones work and which ones don't. Kraftwerk, Mike Oldfield and OMD worked pretty well. Early PSB albums worked pretty nicely, but my insistence on using LP sleeves left Introspective a slightly unpleasant colour...

Re: iTunes 11
Is I Want A Dog Frankie Knuckles? I either didn't know or forgot, would make sense though. Didn't they say they had four mixes on a cassette? Never surfaced I guess.
And tryin' to figure out what happened to 'Germaine Propaine'

How are you all liking Itunes 11?
I'm probably not upgrading as long as the "show duplicates" feature is missing.

I like it so far. Very clean, easy to read interface. I do miss the grid for the ease of manually organizing my tracks though.

Yeah, swings and roundabouts really. It's a nice layout, but I find the larger text a bit annoying - it means I have to have iTunes a lot larger on my desktop. Again, as with a lot of the big OS changes recently (Mac OS and Windows), I imagine it works better for people with small screens and laptops, but not so much for big screens. Hey ho.
Missing old features: nothing particular. I liked having the column browser on the left better than the new Artist View. Some of the view options are hidden in strange places (some things are on the View menu, others are in the main window).
Nice new features: nothing particular. The interface is cleaner, and the new album browser does have the effect of making me want to listen to stuff more, as I said above. That's about it...

It's a bit clunky tbh. Adding to playlists is harder with the removal of the left pane. If you have about a hundred like me, you have to click add and scroll down for ages.BlueSwan wrote:How are you all liking Itunes 11?

The interface is not that clean, and I've noticed that it's slower. Try and delete something. It's not as automatic as before. Not sure what the point is. Think thjere's no visualiser or sleeve preview in the bottom left. All in all, a bit crap.

Hmmm... I think I'll hold off for now.
Thanks for the heads up everyone, otherwise I would have just auto-accepted the update.

Re: iTunes 11
No one seems to have mentioned the main fact that the 'Jukebox' view has now been removed. I loved this view for flicking through my albums and finding something to listen too. But i do like the new view, drop down thing you get when you click on an album but the jukebox view i preferred.
Also, as someone said above, adding to a playlist is a nightmare. I used to drag the files/albums that i wanted into a particular playlist. You can no longer do this. You have to bloody search for the album then when it pops up onthe search 'results' screen you can then add it to your chosen playlist.
A few major changes i think. Some for the worst but i guess we'll get used to it in the end.
