Empire of the Sun - Ice On The Dune

#1 Post by territorygal »

Full LP is now streaming on a couple of music websites, including Rolling Stone and fasterlouder.com.au. I've listened to the first couple of tracks and so far, it hasn't disappointed one bit. Love love LOVE DNA!
And everything about tonight feels right and so young
And anything I'd want to say out loud will be sung
It's in the music...

Just took a listen and I love it. They really stepped it up. The stand outs for me are I'll Be Around, DNA, Disarm, Celebrate and Awakening. Really good stuff. Give it a listen.

I downloaded it this morning and have had a few listens. It is indeed very good, much more consistent then their first album. I agree territorygal, DNA is wonderful. Celebrate has shades of the new Daft Punk. There doesn't seem to be a dud track on the whole album.
But it feels like the flight
Of the von Trapps, does that mean it's war?

I intended to order the signed copy but didn't get round to it, so went into JB on Friday & bought my CD :) It's a great album, love all of it. Very very impressed :)

Whoa!! Just sitting here listening to the track-by-track commentary on Spotify, and Luke mentions that the chorus for I'll Be Around was originally "trying to be, a bit kind of like a Pet Shop Boys song..."
And everything about tonight feels right and so young
And anything I'd want to say out loud will be sung
It's in the music...

I have listened to the album a few times now. It's a lot better than the first one. Definitely much more consistent and really really catchy. Great album to listen to this summer.

How bad they're back! One of the most terrible new bands in general categories. Tacky and largel than life. Bands like tthis stereotype gay music.
I've been around the world for a number of reasons. I've seen it all the change of seasons, and I, my lord, may I say nothing?

They're not gay or at least one of them most definitely isn't. Categorizing dance music as gay is a stereotype though.
