Tony Benn, the UK Labour M.P, who was famously mentioned in PSB's great single, "Love Is A Bourgeois Construct" has sadly passed away this morning, aged 88.

He was from a dying breed of politicians who are also political thinkers and authors.
His diaries are very interesting, and I somehow doubt we'll be reading books on political thought or very engaging diaries from George Osbourne or Danny Alexander in years to come.

I met him once after a talk at Cadogan Hall and he was completely charming. RIP. He was loved by politicians across the spectrum.

Wonderful and much loved man. I heard him speak at a couple of antiwar demos and he captivated all present. This has been a tragic week for the left. End of an era. RIP Tony. RIP Bob.
