I heard so much about this new series from britain that I bought the first season. I LOVE LOVE LOVED IT. so much I bought the second season the day after. I was a little dissapointed by how few episodes are on the CD's, does anyone know how many seasons the office is up to? please dont tell me there are only 2 so far! I hope there are lots more seasons to buy.

Not 100% sure but I think there's only two seasons plus a Xmas special or 2.

Any one know for sure?

If you`ve got the two BBC DVDs then you`ve got the lot, I`m afraid. There was a two-part Christmas special but to the best of my knowledge that is yet to be released on DVD. There will be no more!

It is being remade in the US for the US market, as we speak.

Whether it will be any good is another matter .....

even though I am american I would rather they didnt. for me the appeal is that it is british. besides they ruined cracker one of the other shows I like from over there.

Who did they get to fill Robbie Coltrane's shoes ? Konishki the dumptruck ?

there will be no more of the office Ricky Gervais has said it is finished, but when ever you get the chance watch a newish british comedy called Little Britain it is fantastic.

LOL! actually the actor who did cracker here was robert pastorelli. who later was implicated in his own girlfriends death and then took his own life.

Hey, even the Dutch are raving about The Office now.

Reminds me of that episode where Gareth tries to be cool and claim he's absolutely fine with homosexuality:

"I'm not homophobic at all. You can come round and see my CD collection if you don't believe me: George Michael, Queen, Pet Shop Boys - they're all bummers."

Haha, the US office is my favorite (and one of the only) TV shows. I've seen the British Office, and it's good, though the miking is poor and I can't understand what's being said half the time. Some of the characters in the Brit version are also not as charasmatic, like their "Pam".

I like Both Ricky Gervais (and his recent movie Invention of Lying was hilarious and way to subversive for America) and Steven Carell (although I just saw his Dan movie, and WOW SO BAD SO BAD, my guinea pig could have written a better script...well, no, not really, my pig is a horrible little man).

Any other US Office fans? Who of the Brits thought our version would make it to a 6th season?

The UK Office is a classic example of knowing when to stop (unlike for example Little Britain). 2 series and the specials was perfect, it ended perfectly. David Brent is a brilliant comedy character. And the whole Dawn and Tim thing..you think they wont get together till the very end!

The camera work etc is meant to be a bit poor..it's supposed to be a documentary. I've seen loads of comments on youtube about how it was filmed, clearly people dont understand! Its meant to look like that.

Well having seen that I was waiting with trepidation in 2004

(see post above) to see what the Yanks were going to do with it, I have to say that I think the US version is a far superior comedy and is one of my all time favourite shows along with My Name is Earl and Father Ted.

That's not to say that I think the UK Office is bad, but apart from the basic premise of being set in a paper company office run by a bad boss, they don't really follow the same style and story lines and are therefore quite different shows.

I've been buying the box sets on import as the UK distributors are only up to releasing Season 3 here. (Season 6 should be out in September.)
