What's up with St Etienne?

Since I know there are fans of the Et' here (especially Ray) and I'm too lazy to dig out the info myself, I'd like to know what's up with them? Are they still going on? Have they found a new record company? Can we expect a new album in the fall 2004 or spring 2005?

I am just listening to Finisterre. A great album, especially after two disappointing albums and the very inconsequental Places To Visit ep.

Finisterre the movie is coming out on DVD soon. Sarah is releasing a baby due out in June

so the band is kinda suspended at the moment but the boys are said to be working on the new album anyway. Sarah was supposed to release a solo CD, too, but I guess the baby made her suspend these plans as well which is a shame considering she was going to work with Royksopp on that. I don't know whether they have a label now or not -- I seem to remember talk about Sanctuary but can't remember whether Sanctuary actually signed them or whether somebody just said it would be a good idea

There is also a new movie they did with Paul Kelly, called Caff -- "a 15 minute short film about London cafes".

I read somewhere that they have recorded the new theme for the new Dr Who.

Actually I think they recorded a track for a tribute album. It's an instrumental. (I'm not a big follower of Dr Who)

Thanks for the info. Another solo album from Sarah would be welcome, though. I thinkLipslide was much better than Good Humor or Sound Of Water - even though she left her best track Departure Lounge off it for some insane reason.

Yes, Liplisde is a great album. You expect boring ballads and what you get is pure pop.

Maybe you'd be interested in listening to a song by Etienne Daho called " Les passagers". It is on the album "Eden". Sarah Cracknell is doing the backing vocals and it is of course gorgeous. It was release in the mid nineties at the same time as the EP 'Saint Etienne Daho'. This album should be something psb/St Etienne fans would like...
