Custom fees on PSB store orders

#1 Post by mgkoeln »

Just to let everyone know: If you're in the EU and have to pay customs and fees upon delivery of your PSB order (like I just had to for the "Loneliness" CD), you can apply for a refund: https://shop.petshopboys.co.uk/de/delivery.html

Quite ironic, that after the hassle with the German postman (cash only), scanning the receipt and mailing it back to the UK, I was greeted by a big and ugly "Made in Germany" sticker on the back of the CD cover... Brexit was such a great idea!

In Denmark we pay customs/vat over the post app and get an invoice sent immediately by e-mail (done when it arrives in Denmark) - is very easy.

But yes feels stupid to pay for something that was made in EU (German). I really wonder why Warner does not have a warehouse in Germany to send out from to EU customers ?

It does take about 3 months to get a refund though. That's how long it took me the 2 times I've had to get it.

Although for the 'Nonetheless' stuff there's now an Irish specific Warner Music store that I was able to buy the various versions from without incurring any customs fees.

This loophole seems to be shut for now.

What I meant was that I'm in Ireland and when I click the store link on the front page of the official site, it now brings me automatically to the Irish Warner store which is very handy. I got the 'Loneliness' cd delivered on release day without having to pay anything extra and I'm assuming I'll get my 'Nontheless' stuff on release day too.

Pet Shop Boys have banned shipping from their shop to Russia for a number of years. So I didn't manage to buy Relentless on vinyl and I'm unlikely to buy anything else. On the other hand, I'm glad, because all these singles and vinyls have been lying dead weight for the last years and I rarely listen to anything. I don't think Russia is an important source of income for their business, but whatever.

My Official Store 2LP is on its way, but certainly not delivered on release day. The tracking info states it's being held at Deutsche Post Mail terminal with no further information since the 25th, I assume it's still in the UK. So now the countdown starts (again)....
The Relentless LP only took a few weeks, so maybe I am lucky this time too 8)

Greenmile, has your Nonetheless stuff been delivered already?

A couple years ago I was asked to pay like an extra 70€ for Literally. I decided to forget about that order and buy another one from eBay.

The last thing tried ordering was Relentless and they cancelled my pre-order after some weeks for no reason.

I'll never use their shop again. I don't care if I miss some fancy edition or whatever. Something really went downhill after Brexit. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Not about customs fees, but the PSB store failed to include all the items in my order, so I am missing two signed cards and two prints. I hope they have extras in stock. Hopefully they will respond to my email quickly...

I received the album cover print yesterday, and the rest of the bundle today. Both posted from within Ireland so no extra charges.

I hope they use the Irish store for all orders within the EU. But the. It's weird that my order is held somewhere. Let's hope for the best.

I got my dispatch notices today for the SDE PSB Blu-ray and the Wham!/Paul Young bundle I also ordered. So it looks like the issues they suddenly started having with customs to EU destination have been sorted also.

I wonder if N&C saw everyone's ire on this issue and "had a word" with the store manager...

No news from the SDE store here though…
