The first issue of Record Collector I bought was #110 from October 1988 with a full PSB discography in.

That was when I first learned about all the different versions of singles they'd released. I made it my mission to seek them all out.

I get the concept of the "myth phase". With all the positive press lately, it does feel like it's got to the point where the narrative is being lifted out of PSB's hands and the legend is starting to snowball.

I agree completely with the short album reviews. Apart from Bilingual.

Yeah, as a general curve it's pretty accurate, although I question anything that ranks Super more highly than it does Yes.

I have a soft spot for Record Collector magazine because back in the day as a pre-internet teenager living in Melbourne, it was literally the only way you could ever learn of the existence of a lot of these exotic 12" and CD singles with alternative mixes and artwork which would otherwise not be released locally.

Some of the valuations on the the discography list seem a bit stingy to me. £1.5k for Yes boxset, and 1k for Electric are very low.

I would spend hours looking through the classified ads. With a friend we put a Want to Buy ad in once.
He wanted rare Erasure and I wanted PSB stuff. He got everything and I got nothing

It's nice of them to say PSB can't produce a "dud disc", but they've rated a few of them 2/5 stars

Nightlight isn't a 2/5 album, imo. Over-stuffed, maybe, but not a dud.
