Personally I think this is the best remix in years. Disappointed by all the remixes of the first four singles which just don't sit comfortably with the music IMO. This elevates the track to new heights. I'd put it in same category as Winner (HappySad) for improvement of a plodder beyond all expectations, particularlywhen our first hearing was The Piano Room disappointment. Discuss!

I really like this too. But I’d presumed it was an early PSB demo - before the James Ford single version - rather than something they mixed after.

Agreed - I love it. Brings a real darkness to the track. I also love the fact I have absolutely no idea what bizarre but brilliant chord progression Chris has come up with. Looking forward to deciphering it...

This take on the vocal delivery, on top of the twist in the music, makes it a PSB track for more. Enjoyable though the other versions are, they’re just another cover of an old favourite, they add nothing new to the song. PSB normally remake a song, they don’t just cover it. Delinquent is that remake.

Agreed, this isn’t a remix, yet PSB’s early working version and the credits bear that out:

This is the exact same credit that appears on all of their modern day demos and self-recorded tracks. No producer credit other than PSB and no remixer credit, simply “mixed by.” I think, similar to “Nonetheless” they handed this version over to James Ford, who re-programmed it on analog synths and added an orchestra and Neil re-sang it. For the Richard X mixes it sounds to me as if he used elements of the Ford produced version and this earlier “Delinquent” version.

This version certainly has a bit more mystique about it, but could do with being a bit more messed up and having some different lyrics (e.g. T-Rex dates the original terribly and is a meaningless reference for "young dudes" in 2024). I guess Neil reveres Bowie too much to do that. Either way, it would make for a decent b-side.

The main version heads into Winner-esque Neil hand clapping cringe territory, and I really wish they weren't giving it such high profile. At least "late album singles" like Say It To Me, Feel, I Don't Wanna etc. didn't cause any damage per se.

The Manchester Camerata Orchestral remains my favourite version, but I can't understand why they're so invested in this song.
