I've never even noticed that repetition of "me"! The other instance has never struck me as needing to rhyme.

Ooo scathing.Heart by the Pet Shop Boys is, of course, a synthpop classic, but the lyrics are an absolute disgrace. In the first verse Neil rhymes 'Me' with 'Me', then in the next he rhymes 'Else' with 'Effect'. I mean, f*** hell lads, come on.
Well, I'd add that it is a pop song after all. Cheesy lyrics are part of what makes the writing good, in a way.
It is true Neil rhymes 'me' with 'me' in the first line and later rhymes 'else' with 'effect'.
Honestly, Heart hasn't ever been my favourite track anyway. But, when I enjoy it I'm listening to the overall sound, and I'm also thinking about the lyrics about being so in love with someone.
The Nu Shooz - I Can't Wait style vocal sampling is fantastic. It's a great song, quite catchy.
Though yes, I suppose if we notice the criticisms mentioned it's imperfect.
By the way, isn't it interesting how this is a PSB love song?
We really don't get too many of those.

Bluesky isn't huge but the people are more genuine.
Xitter till has plenty of good content, but there's a tidal wave of bots and porn and extremism, all paying Elon to get their ever decreasing slice. Far fewer regular people are there now, from what it was 5 years ago.

I love "Heart" - it's even a family favourite in our house, so always an easy win when you're creating a family playlist.
It is a very straightforward song, but that's OK. Musical and lyrical depth do not a great song make!

The Dreamworld performances of Heart I attended had some of the biggest cheers of the night and if such as thing was possible almost stopped the show!
