Chrissie Hynde & Pals Duets Album

I know well enough by now to focus on what is and not on what isn't, but I was chagrined to see Neil didn't make it onto Chrissie Hynde's upcoming Duets Special album. I thought they were pals, after her concert appearance with them, and his showing up in a lovely way on the single version of "Let's get lost".

It's going to be a lovely collection anyway. The first "single" was none other than "Always on my mind" with none other than Rufus Wainwright. (A second PSB pal shows up in the form of Brandon Flowers.) The other advance track is with the incomparable k.d. lang. Both recordings are sumptuous, so I'm looking forward to the whole record. There are other interesting and beloved playmates as well; Neil being among them would just have been a cherry on top. She's a favorite of mine and I liked the idea of them being friends. Hopefully they are and logistics just prevented.
