What a fantastic listen, Neil at his absolute best and most analytic. What he says in many ways echoes what David Bowie has meant to me (and still does) over the years, from discovering him with Life on Mars onwards.

That was amazing to listen to. I love listening to Neil, he’s so eloquent. I’m also a fan of David Bowie, I have his Blackstar album.
Neil summarised it perfectly.

Can’t say I’m a big Bowie fan. I really like some songs, but guessing because it’s not my generation he didn’t resonate. However, how moving is this interview? Towards the end there’s a quiver in Neil’s voice which feels so poignant and emotional. Will definitely relisten.

Yes it's an absolute banger! A very interesting tidbit of information about how it inspired "Hallo Spaceboy"!

Cheers, Nickname! (And petshopboysPL on YT.) The BBC website link doesn't work for me, I presume cos I'm not in the UK.

What a great interview! Honestly, I could listen to Neil talk for hours. A few choice nuggets in there, as well as some of his interview "greatest hits". :D I do appreciate his consistency and honesty though. (Huw Stephens: "...FRIEND OF BOWIE!", Neil: "Well, um, no." )

There's another snippet just posted on Instagram of Neil talking with Huw Stephens about "the song he wish he'd written", and he picked "Personality Crisis" by the New York Dolls. Was this actually part of the original interview, because it doesn't show up in this video, or was it from another show?
